Q. Why is incorporating straights against curves in your drawings such an important principal?
A. Well, for starters, it will make the drawing more interesting to look at. I say interesting because it will add variety and allow the viewer to trip
around on the design without getting bored.
There’s also another important principal which has to do with the idea that a simple design creates instant readability. When someone looks at your drawing for the first time, you want him/her to get it right away. If the eye has to study to get the message, quite likely, the viewer will toss your work aside and move on.
