Here are some first attempts at Peepers and Stuey. I'm not quite sure why they don't look right to me. Anyone have any suggestions before I tackle these again?

Thanks all!

peepers looks good. I think you may be making Stuey's legs a bit to short in front view. Also in front view you are sliming his cheeks a bit to much in the first drawing. In the second drawing your loosing his head structure (easy to do, I goof on stucture all the time).

my 2 cents

Peepers looks pretty good but Stuey's proportion see a little off. My suggestion is just keep practicing.

You are off to a great start 2K!

Here's a note that may not really apply to these early drawings:
It'll be good to get into the habit of numbering your images.
That habit will pay off for you later as you post images for Don to critique.
This'll also give everyone a number to reference if they want to talk about a particular image.
(I think I'm suggesting this to you so that I will remember!)

Thanks Rodney. Good point!

2k, I like your drawings. Peepers is really cute!

I just checked out your pencil test, really nice job on the feet & legs, I think you got them spot on. His head appears to do a slight double nod on the lower parts, and the movement of the arms looks slightly angular in some frames giving a karate chop edge. These are only minor points to improve though, I think you did a good job. The actual overall impression is walking, and as I said - I'm very admiring of the feet and legs, really drawn very well. :)

Good pencil test, can't wait to see what Don has to say about all our hard work!

Hi Erikk,

I hadn't seen you first drawings when we had the workshop last Sat. I must say they are quite impressive, particularly the sketch of Peepers. I an anxious to see your ruff test next Sat. Good show.
