I knew I forgot to do something after registering here! Hello, everyone! My name is Seth. I'm am 31 and hoping to get into character design and development. Additionally, I want to write and revise screenplays as well as books. I'm typically very shy, even around other artists, but I'm always happy to carry on a conversation or discussion if presented with one. :D
Hey Seth! Glad to meet you. My name is Seth! And the universal Seth rule is, anybody with the name Seth has got to be awesome! ;) It's a Seth thing.
Ahem, so what brings you here? (you mentioned character design) Art in general, or do you want to be an animator?

I never met a Seth that I didn't like, Seth. Nice to meet you, too! :D
I may attempt to learn animation, but really, that is more of my fiancée's passion. I want to mainly do pre-production work - model sheets, character design, writing up character personalities and bios for the animators to adhere to, and of course, writing the actual screenplay for the films. I'm really more of a writer/illustrator, y'see.
Oh, and just because I saw that you have a fondness for it... Tale Spin is flippin' awesome! It was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. ;)
Yes, Talespin was my fav, still is. It's what inspired me to be an animator.....now I just need to learn how to be one!
Well, that's great what you want to do with your art. I think Model Sheets are a lot of fun to make myself. More power to you!

I think its awesome that you have a solid grasp of what you want to do.
I tend to... how shall I say it... listeth were the wind bloweth me. ;)
Sometimes I wonder if I should focus a little more on one aspect of creativity. As it is I'm fascinated by all the various production aspects of storytelling and communicating. After sharpening my pencil and drawing a little more however, I start to see the potential of animation is within my reach. In those moments I really want to animate.
If Preproduction is what you want to do more power to you.
As Don Bluth once said, "No excuses."
Do it!

Thank you, one and all for the warm welcome! As soon as I found Don's website and learned that it had a forum, I knew I'd not only find some very talented people here, but also some very nice ones. :) I may not have aspirations of becoming an animator, but that doesn't mean I don't have anything to offer here. I've always had a knack for working together with people. I'm looking forward to getting to know many of you better and maybe someday down the road working alongside you on a project! :D

Hiya Seth - sorry for taking so long to get round to posting here, but better late than never :)
Just wanted to say a big welcome to you & Amanda - I really love the artwork you both are making together, in the short time you've both been here it started great & is getting even better! The 2 pics you posted in yesterday's seminar were awesome & full of emotion.
Great to talk to you both during the seminars too.
