I thought I'd start a little thread about the film "My Dog Tulip". I've been curious about this movie and how it's produced. Seeing some piece of the process with Paul Fierlinger and his wife is priceless. The fact that they made it through without killing each other says something of their marriage. It's great to see a well seasoned animator work towards keeping the hand drawn format alive.
I'm sure my appeal for this feature is that I love dogs. As a boy I was bonded to our German Shepard. Now, our family has "Ginger (http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii56/dorseytunes/Gingeroncouch.jpg)" and the love continues. Anyway, enjoy the vids.

Your welcome guys! Christopher Plummer has a great voice for animation. Especially for this kind of subdued character.
In the video, we look over the animators shoulder as he works. What program was used to create this film? The interface doesn't look familiar to me. Is it After Effects? I did some searches but, came up empty handed.

You're right Jeremy, it is TV Paint. They have testimonials from Mr. Fierlinger on their website.

Jeremy,

Just a little. I had a chance to test it out and did some of the bear animation with it. The pencil tool feels pretty good especially with a cintiq and there's still an option to scan in paper drawings and do the clean up/ink & paint digitally. It's the software I'd recommend for a partially paperless or paperless workflow.

"Unable to love each other, the English turn naturally to Dogs"
The amount of comparitively bitter, cynical old men & women I know who hate everyone except their dog, who they treat like royalty, is testamount to this :p
This looks like a really heartwarming project, made with love. I look forward to seeing it. Looks like it could become somewhat of a classic in syndication around Christmas time or public holidays.
