Okay I thought it'd be cool to start one of these up especially since I'm going to attempt to do an animation for one of my classes though at the rate I'm going I won't even start animating. Ahahahaha.

I'm currently at the moment still trying to design a prince type character. I have the main protagonist done already. She is a nymph like creature based on the flower Lily of the Valley. I have done some extremely rough storyboards for this project as well. Just need to get this prince right.
Oh! The green dog is just an old character of mine I drew on prince break =P

Ooooh, I love the woman at the bottom left. Really nice design, her shapes are quite harmonious :)
Okay I think I have finalised the designs more or less now :3 And the prince has now got a name, Emile!

Here are the sketches I did of his face quickly in blue as well as me playing around with the clothing of his to make it more simple.

I will post the storyboards in a little while once I've cleaned them up a bit. I also need to change some slightly as Emile has changed a bit personality wise since I drew them.

Okay here they both are all done up ish. Knowing me I'll probably do the animation in a totally different style. I'm also still playing with colours but now I want to finalise the storyboards and do some test animations. I always have these huge dreams of what I could do compared to what I can do. Haha.

for a character with such complexity, that running animation is really good!

...that crocodile-monster looks wicked!...wicked awesome that is! :D
I always appretiate the all-around skills in an artist, which accordingly can draw the grottesque and the charming side in its subject matter...

http://picormdwe.deviantart.com/art/Finicky-Creature-83188363
These two animations are pretty good.
At first glance I was somewhat bowled over by the Raziel-run-cycle-colour-87140160 (http://picormdwe.deviantart.com/art/Raziel-run-cycle-colour-87140160) with its color, detail, and the overall smooth motion to the run. I made the mistake of watching it a bit too long - so now I've got some nit-picks for you. :)
Main thing is the need to keep the volumes consistent. Note the length of the spine (base of the skull to the base of the tail) and the mass of the legs.
Finicky-Creature-83188363 (http://picormdwe.deviantart.com/art/Finicky-Creature-83188363)
There is a couple places where the character appears to me to be staring right past the objects it is otherwise paying attention to. (Were you modeling this creature's eyes on that particular monkey with the prominent eye / face coloration?) Specifically, the creature never looks directly at the worm coming out of the apple.
Nor does it look at the fresh apple when it returns from off screen to pick that up. Ooop... I take that back. I just stepped through the animation. The second look is there - it is just way too subtle.
I do like how you froze the creature to give the audience plenty of time to see the worm. :)
Thanks everyone for the comments :D
feliceworkshop - I definetely try to have a balance between my art so I can both draw cute and freaky :D
JayTea - Wow thank you so much for that critique. I can see what you what you mean about keeping the volumes consistant on my run cycle especially on those legs. I'll definetely keep this in mind on my next animation.
For the finicky one it was a pretty quick animation however the fact he doesn't look at the apple is a pretty big flaw and I think part of it was that I hadn't thought about it and I really should have. I will hopefully not do this so much next animation I do.
Also here are some sketches I did today of my bird. It's been a long time since I actually sat done and done some life studies on paper. I sometimes draw people on the train but I'm standing about 90% of the time and sleeping 5% so I don't get to as often as I should. However that's not really a good excuse xD;

I actually find it easier to draw digitally rather than traditionally. I'm not sure why as everyone else seems to find it easier to sketch on paper. Oddly enough I prefer to use pen and brush rather than pencil.
Oh also Andreas did some of his own artwork on the top of the ink sketches.

love those sketches there : D I like sketching with pen rather then pencils too, havent a clue why though.
Thank you very much ^^ I think part of why I prefer the others is that I only have really crummy pencils and I have good pens and brushes ): Gotta go out to the art store again.

The art store's a dangerous place for me! XD
Your bird sketches are great! :D I'm with you on using a brush for drawing - I love it too. I battle with shaky hands (thanks, Dad) and the brush is so much more forgiving than a pencil. Sometimes. It depends on what I'm doing.
I also find sketching digitally easier for certain things, but I find that without practicing on real paper my lines start to go flat... Uh.. If that makes sense. XD It's like the tactile sensation is different and that affects how I'm drawing. Pushing graphite across paper is like exercise for my hands.
Well, I guess in a sense it really is that. Heh.
Draw more bird! :D
Well I got myself a set of good pencils but and I must say they have made life easier :D Also that there is no where for me to put my ink safely in the living room. ): Once a bottle of my ink was spilt by my mum and we're lucky we have floorboards because that would have never come out of carpet.
Here are some odd sketches of my mum's cockatiels.
http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb249/picormdwe/dbforums/birds1.jpg
And here are some mice!
http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb249/picormdwe/dbforums/mice1.jpg
They ran off to their house like as soon as I started drawing them. I'll need to draw some of the dogs and rabbit as well.

very cute mice!! and the birds are life like too
Thanks Lavalle :D
I have some more now. I feel bad as I seem to use the board now just to post every little sketch I do xD But I'm pretty happy with these as it's been a long time since I've done anything with pencil. These are not quite as sketchy as they were drawn from just misc images.

wow you have animals spot on!! love'm all. I would really like to see where the dragon drawing is going or is it just a practice sketch....I love dragons! check out my albums and you'll find 2 of them I drew.
Thank you Cartuneman :D I think my animals have always been a bit stronger than my people. Better get working on them.
I love dragons as well but they've always been a big challenge for me. These guys were just little doodles but I might do a full body image of one soon because I haven't in a long long time.

I really like how you're studying the owl first and taking a realistic approach. Drawing from all angles is really nice too! Raziel is a very nice piece of animation as well. I especially like the movement in the legs and body. You draw very well and its nice to see more your work!

I really liked your people sketches and that wolf on the first page. :D They all look really great!
I uploaded this a little while back and I guess I must have forgotten to post them. They're just some sketches of the nymph from the storyboards I'm working on for college.

Ahahaha I never thought of it that way! That's great
It's been a little while since I posted anything here because I've been so busy rushing all of my assignments now. Here are some storyboards from the animation I am doing-ish. There are about 60 storyboards however only about 10 of them are this quality because I simply ran out of time.

Hey guys! I need some serious feedback on an animation I'm working on. It's just really spaced out keyframes/extremes. I'm not sure what to call them. I had intended it to be much cleaner and not done in flash but I have 2 weeks left now to animate at least one scene from it.
I don't want to post it publically on the board though as it's a larger file and my friend is kindly hosting it so I don't want to put too much strain but if anyone can help or would like to see what I'm doing just PM me and I'll link you. Things that I'd really love to know is if you understood the story and what the characters are doing. Can you get a grasp of who and what the characters are? Is there a scene in the story that you think could be better using a different angle, expression, motion, etc?
Here are some of the frames :3 They're nothing too flash.

Okay you can totally disregard the previous post now as it has been and gone now
Here is something really quick I had to whip up for a college project. I'd love feedback on it :D Also the spikes on his back have a mind of their own.

that is a very fun looking character! hope to see more animation on it
whats the creatures name? or what kind of creature is it?
Thank you very much :D
His name is Yippi based off what I guess would be a mythical Australian creature called the bunyip. He's a mixture of an echidna, frog, wombat, crocodile and kangaroo.
If have some more images of him from the project here.
