Oh well, why not? I feel like I'm jumping the gun because I wanted to start learning from Don's wonderful site here before I started posting anything, so I could say "Here's my old stuff.", but I'm too eager to dive in.

Here's one of the very few worthwhile drawings of a character of mine. All feedback is welcome and appreciated. I can usually see most of the faults in my work, but working them out seems to be another matter. The perspective in his face and mouth is off, and his torso and upper arm could be better defined. Anything else? http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs193.ash2/45617_145353475495859_100000636210406_275948_72613 48_n.jpg

I love it! You have a strong line of action and silhouette. I like the expression on the face, the perspective doesn't look wrong to me, in fact it looks better than you put the jaw like that because it flows into the line of action nicely. Very interesting design too. My only comments/questions are, what emotion were you trying to convey with this pose? And if you can find ways to simplify this design a little, especially the fur, I could see this being a great animated character. You have a lot of talent, pllllease post more! And please post a character profile so we can get to know your character better.

Wow, thank you very much! Good mention though, I don't feel I really captured the emotion I was going for. He was meant to be lying back, just sort of coming down from a fit of laughing, and his pose is a little stiff to portray that effectively.

Also, agreed. I would like to animate this guy eventually, and his spiky hair will definitely need toning down. He's supposed to look pretty unkempt and scuzzy so it'll be interesting to find the best way to reflect that with a smoother design. This is sort of a "comic book" version. I don't have much art of him that isn't bad, late night scrawling, but I'll post a few more things, and more importantly, I fully intend to start drawing again. :) Here's what he's usually tended to look like for the last few years;

Here's another old scrawl for now. The next thing I post will be something new. :)

Thank you. :) (Although, I actually tweaked the coloring in Photoshop.) I definitely have quite a way to go before I'll be able to animate him, but that's why I'm here.
