As some of you may well know, Don Bluth Animation is a relatively new site. We are still trying to locate all the bugs and glitches and correct them accordingly. To be honest, the current members of the forum and Don's club have been invaluable in this process. All of the information you have given us so far has made catching these bugs and glitches a lot easier.
With that in mind, our web developers are currently trying to make access to the forum more user friendly and will be testing features over the next few days. On occasion, some features may not work as you expect or login may become difficult. We understand your frustration.
To help serve you better, if you notice any problems with either our site, checkout process, or forum, please bring it to our attention as soon as possible. You may post any problems on this thread or send a note through the contact page (http://www.donbluthanimation.com/_Don_Bluth_Animation_Contact_us.html) on our site.
Thanks for you patience.

How can we post polls ?

dmgctrl

You have to select to do so when you open the thread. If you have any problems when doing so, let me know. Poke around in the options, we've kept a LOT of stuff open for our members.

Are you trying to start a new thread with a poll? If so, you have a checkbox in "additional Options" allowing you to open a poll. You cannot add a poll to an existing thread.

In Additional options I have just:

"Automatically parse links in text"
"Disable smiles in text"

and
"Notification Type"

Look as deep into all the available options as you can. We have kept almost every option available, so keep me informed if things arent working properly. It woud take a LONG time for me to login as every usergroup and test every option! But if you discover something, please let me know.

Can I rename my topic title if i did a mistake?
And could you swap the URL functions: "content" and "value" ?

description[/B]"]http:// - is more correct.

Regular forum users are unable to change the thread topics. Ask a mod if you need this done.

As for changing the BB code, I have to disagree on description[/B]"]http:// being "more" correct. In normal html code you would have <a href="URL">Description</a>, which is the default BB code. Yes, it can be changed, but for now will remain as it is unless other users agree that it should be changed.

Okay! I just had a huge thing with lost passwords and I couldn't login for ages.

I realised I can't use passwords sent through the forum after about 3 tries then I realised I had to change it through the link in don's club login. It would probably be a good idea if the forums lost password linked to that to avoid confusion :D

Thanks from bringing this to our attention. I will look into it and see what can be done to simplify the process.

Hey look, we got shiny new Don's Club badges! :D

Also, I was just thinking, maybe there should be a seperate forum or subforum for site discussion/suggestions? That way, we can talk about each suggestion or whatever in its own thread as well, rather than either (a) having this thread get really diluted with commentary about the ideas on it, or (b) having no commentary from users about ideas for the site.

Maybe make it customary to drop a note in the suggestion thread, with a link to the thread for discussion of it, etc.

Just a thought! :)

If you wish to create such a thread, by all means do so. This one was created for members to post any issues with thinks working correctly. We've identified a few things an managed to address most of them already.

The Badges for Don's Club Members was CanAurs idea, as was the different colouring for moderators.

Do you have something you would like to see, or a suggestion on how to improve things here?

The forum already does YouTube, any chance you'd also add a tag for Vimeo?
So I could embed a video by doing:
1187514
(Which would embed http://www.vimeo.com/1187514 )

Vimeo tends to be a little higher quality, and allows folks to download the original video file (if the file's author permits it).

Thanks! :)

Sorry it took so long to see this post. The width of the page hasn't changed. Its 950px as it has always been. Try holding ctrl while you scroll the mouse wheel.

Is there any way to edit older posts, or FIRST POSTS on a thread? I have some threads that I started that could be more clear if I could modify my first post. Just wondering.

There is a time limit on editing posts. You could request it from a mod though...

The Youtube tags don't seem to be working properly for me, but it's only on this forum. Instead of a video in the post, I get a big blank white square. And this is after the page fully loads, in both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.

For some reason you now have to use the unique youtube video code, wrapped around youtube links.

So if your link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8UqaQFiqO4

you would type:

[ YOUTUBE ] T8UqaQFiqO4 [ /YOUTUBE ]

without the spaces of course.

T8UqaQFiqO4
