This being an animation forum I thought I oughtta dig up some of my limited attempts at animation to show. But first a little history! (woo hoo!)
Years ago... And I do mean YEARS! Back when The Gif89 format was first being used to create animated gifs. (I'd found one on a web page and puzzled over "how the heck were they making this thing move without any server side scripting")
I wrote and asked the author of the page and he told me of the gif89 format that allowed for multiple image layers to be "stacked" in the gif compression and played back. I excitedly researched the formats and began trying to make one of these new "animated gifs" My first attempt was a little dragon hopping across the screen in the form of a "bar". back then Bars were horizontal images used to separate parts of a webpage. Thus after some drawing and hand creating a layered gif89 my first animated gif was born and giving the extremely creative name "runbars.gif" which stood for running and smoke bar.
Sadly I dont have the original frames anymore... all 5 of them
but here's the little finished animation.

Next I thought I should do another.. so I thought of making a little dragon sneezing. since I didnt have any clue how to do animation back then I had to make everything up. I would get some sheets of typing paper and put dots on the corners of the area I wanted to draw the frames in. I would lay a page on a glass picture frame with a lamp shining up though it and I would draw my frame. then I'd lay the next sheet on top. Line up the dots and draw the next frame. Until I had them all done. then I'd pull out my trusty hand scanner (back then flatbed scanners cost as much as a used car! So I had a little logitech hand swiped scanner that was 3 inches wide and scanned in an amazing 16 levels of gray!) so all my frames had to be no more than 3 inches wide or they wouldnt all fit in the field of the scanner.
Anyhow back to the story....
I drew the frames of the sneezing dragon. Fortunatly I still have the test gif I made from that one.

the finished gif looks like this
http://www.dragonneo.net/animgifs/drsneeze.gif
I have all my attempts in a directory here (http://www.dragonneo.net/animgifs/)
All of these had to be designed to be small in file size and loop. Back then if you had a 56k modem you were rich and broadband was what you called the elastic around fat people's underwear! (hey! I have broadband!!)
Please dont laugh yourself to death by they lameness of the artwork! I was just starting to try to draw back then!
I never really did any more as time went on. Work and Life kinda took over.
But I thought I should at least show that I did try to do some animation at one time!
