I have a few videos of other animators from the CTN Expo that don't feature Don. If anyone would like to follow along as I post them, you can visit the site here:
http://xsheet.net/
The first video is by Eric Goldberg.

thank for sharing these amazing videos. It means alot to those of us that could not attend.

the black paper trick (slot gag?) looks nice and it beats digital. my first semester I used a similar trick for stop motion. it's a shame that traditional clasic animation does not make more use of these techniques. like Don said they Just don't get written :( although the stop motion animators do have many they still use. wow, what they can do with a cotton ball!

This is kind of off topic but I'm curious if you guys like this format. We talked about making a video Q&A session for Wednesday. Some people preferred a written Q&A while others wanted a video or audio option. Personally, if it were possible to do a video Q&A, I'd rather do that and break it up into small chunks over the week with a short written description. Seeing Don critique my work in person was so valuable because I could see his expressions and understand when my work was connecting or missing the mark. There are services like dimdim (http://www.dimdim.com/) or goto meeting and the event could be recorded. What does everyone else think?

I like the idea of video. Animation is such a visual medium and I think Don could explain his thoughts on paper and we could all benefit from seeing him work. Two thumbs up!

New video up where Don talks about his definition of an artist:

I really feel that the video is the way to go, Maybe everyone writes Down questions and then on the following wednesday Don answers them!

i would really like to active both option open.......i would really like to see his facial expression when he says...good job,arif...or great job!! or .....i have impressed........at the same time,we should open write and post option as may be there are always some people like me who would feel shy to ask question..:D:o directly by microphone rather than to write question.....

Arif

I posted in the other thread before finding this one ;) but wanted to recap and say thanks for posting all the videos.

I think it would be cool to have a video Q&A. You do get a lot more out of seeing hand gestures and facial expressions. I would think now it is research for what could work best?

I think that a video Q&A would be amazing. Even a live podcast would be excellent. However some members have some reservations about this.

http://www.donbluthanimation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=221&highlight=podcast

One of the main concerns is being able to search the forums for answers to questions. It's not easy to search through a long podcast or video. I think a solution to this would be to have someone transcribe the video or podcast and post a written Q&A after the video or podcast and post it to the forums! I'll volunteer!

I am sure you have seen AnimationPodcast (http://animationpodcast.com/james-baxter-part-three/). At the bottom of the page they transcribe (or SHOWNOTES as they call them) the key topic and time with in the recording. So people can quickly go over each one and find a relating topic.

Freddie Moore had so much talent. It's tragic that he died at such a young age. He left us with some great animation...

Here's a scene from "Make Mine Music". I've been told that Freddie animated the girl getting ready for the dance.

That is so cool! Thanks for those links! I found a spanish blog that is a tribute to Freddie Moore. It does have some nude drawings in it. So beware.
