I actually just use 8x11 printer paper for my practice and sketches. I only use animation paper when I animate to conserve. :D

We might have another Animators Night Out soon, you should come. :) Last night we had a 4 hour recording session for Crackerland voices! All the voice actors came, tt was AWESOME! I will post images and some video of that in the meantime till the SCAD video is available. :)

I've never seen so many Mickeys in my life! :eek: I agree that Mickey is one of the hardest characters to draw. Maybe it's because he's been turned into an icon over the years instead of merely a character?
The action lines in your poses are nice, the drawings just flow well. I also like how you draw him in different outfits. Want to see even more! :laughing:

What impresses me the most is that you've really been developing the smoothness, flow and accuracy of your lines. I'd say 'confidence' is the word I really should use.

I'm really loving this last animation.
I'm tempted to screen capture it and dissect it more because I'd like to figure out why I'm not perceiving the action of Mickey jumping. I know that he is but I'm not clearly seeing that in the animation. Is this animated on 1s? 2s?

Perhaps if it was on 4s that'd give adequate screentime to the key images?

At any rate... GREAT TEST!!!

Thanks Rodney! I animated it on 2s, if you like I could send you the individual frames in an email and you can check it out. I try to draw everyday like Don told us we should do! I am happy you see improvement. I animated Mickey because I did so much study of him, I wanted to see if I could do it!

Thanks Don for coming back and posting!! The last year has been amazing. I got the honor of speaking at the Savannah Animation Festival in Georgia, two times! Once about my cartoon "Crackerland" and another presentation about "How to Earn A Living Making Online Cartoons". I also started teaching kids how to make flash cartoons, and use photoshop at an animation school here in Orlando. In addition I started a website dedicated to Traditional Animation called www.TraditionalAnimation.com which has become very popular. Every day I draw for at least 30 minutes to an hour like you have always told us. I still have been animating as much as possible too, taking life drawing twice a month and even learning effects animation.

I have been wanting to give you an update for so long! Thanks for the 3 years you mentored us and know I will never stop dreaming, it is because of you I picked up the pencil and started learning hand drawn animation.

Thanks Owen, they are burlesque models. We sometimes have costumed and sometimes nude. I think we have a ballerina coming up soon.

Very nice drawings. Yes I signed up for his critique on disk 2 tests he would send me notes videos and drawing that he did over my drawings. He was awesome pointed out a lot of areas to work on and helped me big time with my animation.

AWESOME NEWS!! I got to be a presenter at the Jacksonville Animation Film Festival. I presented Crackerland with my co-creator Les. Also my site www.TraditionalAnimation.com was one of the sponsors we got to be on all the pamphlets/handouts, which was very cool to see! Also the logo on the big theater screen in between movies and shorts! Lastly Chick n' Slice was in the festival today on the big screen, it got a lot of laughs! I really dig festivals.
