Ha don't know about pro...

Twitter is considered Micro blogging. using 140 or less characters to say what you are up to. It is also built so you can update from your phone easily. The nice factor is when you want to check up on someones twitter site you can find out with little reading what they are up to in the past few days/week.

It gets a bad wrap because people sort of misuse it and tweet about everything and nothing at all. Like "going to get coffee" then a minute later "at the shop now buying coffee" followed up by "got a mocha" so on... which nobody really cares about.

My way of explaining it in an animation analogy :D
Only tweet the key frame moments in your life. Don't talk about the inbetweening.

I mainly use mine to follow people who are into animation and post when something is animation related. Not to say I don't post stupid stuff now and again :p

On a similar note... there is a website called twitterfall.com that collects tweets based off of word searches that you enter. So you can enter Pixar and you can see what people are talking about on that subject. kind of cool to get a quick pulse of a subject.

Twitter's good for realtime news updates. Pretty good if you have any fans, or anyone you wanna know what they're doing! I don't use it as much as I could, just mostly for ustream.tv announcements.

I do tweet for some days now. That's not that bad and could even be useful, but only if we manage not to tweet about our private life or insignificant things (such as “I'm just brushing my teeth”:)).
Here's my twitter ID for those who are interested: Poulpette_D

zanekohler → this video is just… huge! But that's so true for some people.:(

I will say Twitter is fun following specific topics. It is great to see what the public at large is saying about something like a movie. Since people are limited in the length you get quick answers.

You can see all the people talking about Don Bluth. A lot of hype for the Itunes app for Dragons Lair.
