Hi Erica, thanks for uploading all of these pictures! One thing that really strikes me is the way you use color. I'm afraid I don't quite know how to talk specifically about color, but for some reason I really like the colors that you choose. You posted one picture that almost seemed like an animation background or something (it's like a pinkish sky scene). It was a simple design, but I found the colors to be quite pleasing. Good stuff!

You've made me feel guilty now...I need to post some more stuff! :-)

what is the medium you are working in for pirate girl?

It's Photoshop which I have to admit I am not use to I usually paint on canvas or paper using watercolors . So this is my first real attempt with it besides just creating textures for 3D work.

When you start your drawings, do you begin sketching with the basic shapes or do you feel your way on the page?

When I try I usually rough it out with shapes and then start drawing the details and the main part. I use not do this but aftaer several readings in books, etc... I do now.

Unfortunalty why I did not go to the Materclass was a shortage of funds. I probabl;y could of come up the class funds or the airfare but unfortunality at the time I could not come up with both. I still want to make it to a Masterclass though.

About the animation, try to ease out and ease in from both sides. Also when she is centered she "jerks" back to the direction she's turning from.

There's a couple problems. One is solid drawing and making sure your drawings maintain structure and when they turn. Problem two is the turn. You have the right idea by closing the eyelids during the turn but there are too many drawings in the middle. It would probably best for a vanilla turn to slow out of one 3/4 and slow in to the other 3/4 extreme. If you can, talk to your instructors and mention that you need extra help with solid, dimensional drawing. Also if possible, keep your rough drawings even if the instructor ask you to clean it up. Keep at, I see improvement in your stork drawings!
