Hi Rula.....

at last you have started your gallery.....and glad that you have made your mind to be here...:laughing::laughing:..i said before on facebook that i like your works as it has some different taste always.....:D

and i think, you are the first who came from Middle east(Arab world)....this site is going to be really international now....hahahahahaha..

(besides, i have re-sized your images...800x600 pixel ratio would be appropriate for the high resolution images.)

Rula! (a late hello to you as I realize I didn't officially say Hi!)

I really like your designs, perhaps especially this last one.
I think they would be a lot of fun (and relatively easy) to animate.

These two characters would have worked really well with the background I used in Don's Masterclass. If you get a chance I recommend logging in to the Weekly Seminar and asking Don about how he would approach animating them on a path (or paths).

Do you do requests? If you do... Please draw more of these two characters from a variety of different angles.

Rula,

That is a very impressive image.
You are either very naturally talented with composition or you have had a great teacher. (perhaps both of these)

When I first saw your image I immediately thought of two suggestions.
The first was to move the girl away from the center of the image.
The second was to break up the parallels of the girl's legs/feet so they wouldn't mirror the parallels in the lamp post.

I now think both of these suggestions would be a big mistake.

What you've done is wonderful and I suspect you know exactly what I'm saying. The umbrella is in the perfect place to allow the girl to take center stage and the parallels in the legs and feet mirroring with the lamp post balance that side of the image against the upward lifted umbrella. The shadow of the girl centered at the base of everything perfectly.

Pure poetry.

How I came to appreciate your image more was to try to alter your image to what I thought it should be. The more I changed the worse the image looked to me. (I kept this altered image small because its really not worth seeing)

Wonderful illustration Rula.
In my estimation it has the makings of an award winning piece.

So, is there anything left for me to critique?
Hmmmm.... If there is anything I still think could use some tweaking it would be the shadows.
As the girls is lit from the top left it seems that the lamp post as well as the shadow underneath the girl should be lit similarly. Given my record on suggestions today... I'm not sure I'd change that either. ;)
